My $80 cast iron skillet nearly ended my kitchen hobby
Picked up a Lodge skillet at Target for $80 two years ago. Thought it was indestructible until I left it soaking in soapy water overnight. Rusted so bad the surface looked like a meteor. Had to spend another 4 hours scrubbing and re-seasoning it. Anyone else had a cast iron disaster from a simple mistake?

Did your friend try scrubbing it with salt and oil first?

Yeah that salt and oil trick works like magic, I swear by it now.
