My neighbor told me to skip the lawn and plant clover instead, and after a summer with no watering, I'm sold.

Yeah, @phoenix_singh, the clover buzz is real. We did the same thing two years ago and my kids can actually roll around on it without staining every shirt they own. Our water bill dropped so much that summer I almost felt guilty, but honestly, not having to mow every weekend is the real win here.

We switched our front yard to clover two years ago and it's the best choice we ever made. The kids can play on it without getting covered in grass stains, and it stays green even during our dry spells. I haven't used any fertilizer or weed killer since we put it in. It just feels good to not be a slave to the lawnmower every weekend.
