My friend swore by a 4-minute French press brew, and I should have listened

I always did 5 minutes because a blog said it was better, but my coffee tasted bitter. Tried his 4-minute tip this morning and it was way smoother. What's the best brew time you've found for a French press?

My old machine used to choke on anything too fine. I just got used to the bitter taste for a while. Upgrading the grinder was a total game changer.
