Shelled out $130 for a power trowel blade balancer and it paid off in one afternoon

Been finishing concrete for about 8 years now and never bothered balancing my blades. Just threw them on and hoped for the best. Last week I was working a garage floor in Dayton and kept getting this weird chatter on the finish. Spent an hour re-seating blades and adjusting pitch with no luck. Finally picked up a cheap dynamic balancer set from the supply house for $130. Checked each blade and three of them were way off balance. After balancing them the trowel ran smooth as butter and the finish came out dead flat. Now I'm kicking myself for all those jobs where I probably had bad blades ruining my work. Anybody else notice a big difference after balancing their blades?

Never thought about balancing blades either until I had the same chatter problem last month.

Whoa, that's wild! I dropped a brand new blade once and it wobbled like a bad teacup.
