Overheard a client talking about at-home keratin treatments and it scared me

I was at a coffee shop near my salon in Tampa last week and heard a lady telling her friend she bought a keratin kit online for $30. She said she was gonna do it herself in her bathroom. I wanted to grab her arm and explain how easy it is to burn your scalp or ruin your hair with those cheap chemical mixes. Has anyone else had to fix a DIY keratin disaster that came into their chair?

Honestly, people buy sketchy stuff online all the time and it turns out fine. Maybe let natural selection handle this one.

My sister bought one of those "herbal" detox teas and ended up in urgent care with heart palpitations. Maybe let people make their own choices but at least warn them first.
