That client who told me my highlights were 'too uniform' made me rethink everything
I spent three years doing the same sectioning pattern until a regular said they looked fake, so I switched to a weave technique with random slices and now the grow-out is way softer, has anyone else had to change their whole method because of one comment?

Three years is a long time to do the same sectioning, but honestly one client's comment making you "rethink everything" feels a bit dramatic. I've had people tell me my cuts were boring or my color was too warm and I just shrugged it off because not every opinion needs to be a whole career shift. Unless that regular was paying for half your rent or something, it's just feedback not a life sentence. I mean yeah the weave technique sounds good and all but you probably would have gotten tired of the old pattern eventually anyway.

That one comment really stuck with me too until I stepped back and realized it wasn't about the whole career, just the specific section. I started asking a couple regulars for their honest input on small changes before jumping to anything big. Made it feel less like a crisis and more like trying a new tool in the box.
