Trying to get a perfect platinum blonde on a client with old box dye took me way longer than I thought

Honestly, I had a client come in wanting a cool platinum but she'd been using a dark brown box color for years. I told her it might need two sessions, but it ended up taking three full appointments over six weeks to get it right without frying her hair. I used Olaplex No. 3 religiously between visits to keep the integrity. Has anyone else found a better way to lift through that much stubborn artificial pigment?

Sounds like a lot of work for a hair color. Is getting platinum that important if it risks wrecking your hair for months? I see people chasing these perfect shades and it just seems like a hassle. All those products and sessions add up to a big bill too. Maybe some hair just isn't meant to be that light.

Honestly, it reminds me of my friend who fried her hair trying to go silver. She spent the whole summer wearing hats because it felt like straw. Sometimes the dream color just isn't worth the real cost.
