Old foreman told me I was jerking the load too much on a hospital job back in '09

He said I was putting too much swing into it and making the rigging work harder than it had to. Changed my lever timing after that, and now I ease into every lift instead of snapping it. Anyone else get that same talk from an older hand?

Did you ever try wrapping your taglines around a cleat to dampen the drift?

Heard a dock builder mention this trick once, said it worked best with a half wrap instead of a full one to avoid too much friction. Keeps the line from slipping but still lets it slide a bit when a gust hits. Have you found certain line materials make a difference with that method?
