Pulled up load charts for a 1999 Liebherr LTM 1050 last night and the numbers are way higher than I expected

I always figured older cranes would be seriously underpowered compared to modern stuff. Found a PDF from some German archive site comparing load charts across decades. That old Liebherr at 35 feet out radius still picks like 12 tons. That's wild for a 25 year old machine. Anyone else ever check old specs and get surprised at what those things can actually do?

Were you looking at the German load charts or the North American ones? I heard those can differ quite a bit on the same model because of different regulations. The 12 tons at 35 feet sounds like it might have been running with full counterweight and maybe some extra ballast.

Respectfully, that 12 tons is legit on standard counterweight alone.
