Question about the 'no AI art' rule at the Denver gallery show last week
Last week at the Pixel Fest showcase in Denver, I saw a piece get pulled for using AI tools, which the gallery said broke their 'human only' rule. Three years ago, I would have agreed, but last month I started using an AI sketch helper for my own work and it just speeds up the boring parts, it doesn't make the final piece. The rule feels like it's punishing artists for using a new kind of brush, you know? Has anyone else run into a show with a strict rule like this and found a way to explain your process?

So you think it's just a new brush? Even @jesse_nguyen said it just fixes hands, which feels like more than a tool doing the actual art part. If the gallery rule is no AI, maybe they have a point about where you draw the line. It just seems like a weird hill to die on when real people are still making the choices.

My gallery submission passed after I showed them my sketchbook layers, which @jesse_nguyen would appreciate for fixing hands too.

Calling it a "new kind of brush" is generous, my AI helper mostly just fixes my terrible hands.
