Had a seagull steal my sandwich right off the dredge ladder in Galveston Bay
I was working the ladder on the 'Mudcat' last spring, taking a quick lunch break up on deck. I set my ham and cheese down for maybe ten seconds to grab my water bottle. Out of nowhere, this huge seagull swoops in, grabs the whole thing, and flies off. The funny part was, the sandwich was wrapped in foil, and the bird dropped it about fifty feet away, right into the suction line. We had to shut down for twenty minutes to fish out a wad of foil, bread, and ham before it jammed the pump. Now I always eat inside the cabin with the door shut, no matter how nice the weather is. Anyone else have wildlife cause a dumb work stoppage?

The part about the foil in the suction line is perfect. Nature's way of giving you a forced coffee break.

Forced coffee break is right. We had a raccoon get into the main breaker box at a site once. Chewed through some wires and shut down the whole trailer park's power for an afternoon. The little guy just stared at us from a tree while we fixed his mess.
