That day the mud kicked my butt real bad
Last Tuesday I was running the dredge on a pond job near Baton Rouge and the suction line clogged up three times before lunch. Had to crawl out and clear it by hand each time, came back covered in muck from head to toe. Anyone else ever have a day where everything just fights you?

Third time before noon is rough. I started carrying a spare set of waders in the truck after my third mud bath in one week, makes the walk back to the shop a little less miserable.

Dredge work has a way of making you earn every load, that third clog before noon means there's probably settling in the line somewhere upstream you haven't caught yet. Mud baths are just part of the deal when you're running suction equipment in Louisiana clay, but clearing clogs by hand all day will wear a man down fast. Spare waders in the truck is smart, but checking your suction hose for weak spots where mud packs in tight might save you a couple of those crawls.
