My old boss told me to always use a torque wrench on the governor bolts, even if it feels tight.

I skipped it on a rush job in a Phoenix office building last month, and one backed out enough to cause a fault. Now I'm wondering if anyone has a good trick for marking torqued bolts in tight spaces.

Yeah, that old advice is solid for a reason lol. A paint pen works best for marking, even in tight spots. Just a single line across the bolt head and onto the housing so you can see at a glance if it's moved.

Totally agree! Paint pens are a game changer for that.

Forget paint for a second. Try a tiny dot of super glue between the bolt and housing. It holds just enough to stop vibration from backing things out, but you can still break it loose with a normal wrench. It's a cheap fix that works on stuff that gets hot or oily where paint might fail.
