Question about the battery life on my old iPod Nano
I was cleaning out a drawer and found my old 3rd gen Nano, and after plugging it in I read online that its original battery was only rated for about 24 hours of audio playback, which feels so tiny compared to my phone now.

Wow, @wyatt_shah85, how long did that new battery actually last on a full charge? I'm curious if the real world use matched that old rating after the swap, or if it fell short pretty quick.

Found my old 5th gen and had the same thought. Replaced the battery myself with a kit from iFixit, which was easier than I expected. It actually holds a charge now, so that old rating seems about right.

Wait, did you check the battery health after you swapped it? Honestly, I've done a few of those swaps and the new batteries are never as good as the original. They might hold a charge at first, but they degrade way faster. Tbh, I wouldn't trust that old rating to still be true with a third-party part. It feels like a temporary fix that just proves the point about planned obsolescence.
