Heard a guy at the hardware store say he's pulling all his equity to buy a boat

I was in line at Home Depot yesterday. The guy in front of me was telling his buddy he's doing a cash out refi on his house in Tampa. Said he's taking $85k to buy a fishing boat. His exact words were 'the payment only goes up a couple hundred bucks, it's free money.' That really made me stop. He's turning home equity into a big loan on a thing that loses value fast. The math seems off if you ask me. Has anyone else seen people use their equity for stuff that just costs more money every month?

My wife and I blew $80 on a show that was just people talking in a room

We saw the trailer for 'The Circle of Trust' and it looked like a tense thriller, but it was just eight episodes of characters sitting around a table arguing with no real plot. It felt like we paid for a subscription just to watch a boring meeting. What's a show that totally tricked you with its marketing?

Save cash" is the part that gets me lol. After all that time and wasted oats, you're definitely not saving money. Just buy the carton, it's way less hassle and actually tastes good.

My unpopular opinion: pre-ground beef beats fresh grinding for weeknight meals.

Why did I always grind my own beef? I was sure the flavor was better. Then I tried pre-ground on a rushed Tuesday. Made chili, and it tasted exactly the same. Skipped washing the grinder and wiping up greasy spots. Now I get it, the time saved is totally worth it.
