My back started yelling at me after a big storefront job

Yeah, glass panels are no joke. A buddy of mine wrecked his back moving a marble countertop because he kept reaching too far out. He learned the hard way to get right up next to the weight and lift with his legs, not his spine. A few weeks of bird-dog exercises really helped him build up the stability he needed.

Heads up on composite decking expansion gaps

Man, we always forget those little gaps matter for water runoff too.

PSA: Remember when dock owners would wave from their porches?

Ugh, don't even get me started. My HOA once sent me a full page citation because my trash can lid was open exactly three inches (the rule says two inches max, of course). I had to read like fifteen pages of bylaws just to find that one dumb line (I mean, who even measures that?). So getting a whole rulebook PDF for a water question feels totally on brand for them. They love making you do the homework yourself instead of just giving a straight answer. It's like their main power move, honestly.

Can we talk about hand sanding vs. machines on body panels?

Man, that's rough. I've been there too, rushing on a curve and paying for it later. I mean, one thing people don't always mention is how much your lighting and where you stand mess with your sense of the shape. If the light is flat, you'll miss those dips even with hand sanding, and then you're just guessing. Maybe it's just me, but I double check from every angle now before I go too far with the grit.
