Why does nobody talk about the 10mm socket rule for flat fixes?

Man, I used to just throw a multi-tool in my bag and call it good. Then I got a flat with a seized axle nut on a back road. That 10mm socket is the only thing that got my wheel off without stripping everything. My home kit has one now, no question.

A heads up about those cheap dot grid notebooks from the big craft store chain

Ugh, been there. Have you tried the Exceed notebooks from Walmart? The 100gsm ones are surprisingly good with ink and still pretty cheap.

Am I the only one who thinks digital art lost its charm?

Ugh tell me about it. My feed is just a shopping mall with extra steps now. I miss when people just posted their weird little paintings without trying to sell me the brush they used.

Had a guy bring in a microwave that smelled like burnt popcorn and regret

Honestly, that beats the time a client asked if her oven's self-clean cycle could sanitize her kid's plastic bath toys. The melting smell was something awful. It's like people see a warm box and their common sense just leaves. @irisg57, a toaster for socks is a new one, but it fits the pattern. Why does the most simple rule, 'don't put weird stuff in hot appliances,' seem so hard to follow?

Read a study that said some orchids can take 15 years to bloom from seed

Actually saw that study too, but the 15 years is for the really slow ones in the wild. Most home growers using sterile flasks can get some types to bloom in 3-5 years. Still a crazy long time to wait for a flower.
