inI finally got the new band saw blade dialed in after a month of fighting it.
Check the blade for a straight line with a dollar bill.

inWarning: I blew $400 on a 'self-leveling' laser that couldn't handle a simple garage slab job.
Sometimes you gotta be harsh to get the point across.

inJust realized our kitchen's energy bill dropped by 18% after switching to induction.
Watched my friend's whole kitchen vibe change after their switch. They run a small place up in Seattle and kept talking about the heat control, just like you said. But what got me was how they described the quiet, totally echoes what @hayden_rivera said about the noise. My friend said his cooks can actually hear each other call out orders now, and the summer kitchen doesn't feel like a furnace anymore. They didn't even check the bills for months, so the savings just felt like a random gift when it finally showed up.

inMy cheap backpack zipper blew out on a train in Berlin
Honestly, how did you even carry it after the tape job? Tbh, duct tape is a solid quick fix but it gets so sticky and gross after a day. I had a strap snap once and used a carabiner and some zip ties from a hardware store to rig it, which worked way better for actually carrying it. The zip ties let me keep the bag closed tight without the mess.

inRant: A guy at the food bank in Spokane argued that dried beans are a waste of time compared to canned, and now I'm torn.
Used to be a total bean snob about the dried ones. Time really does become a different kind of currency when life gets busy. Paying for the can is just paying for your sanity back sometimes. Makes perfect sense when you frame it that way.
