TIL a single commercial deep fryer can use over 50,000 gallons of oil a year, which I read in a weird trade magazine at my dentist's office.

Has anyone else seen a stat about kitchen equipment that made your jaw drop?

Oh man, that's nuts. I read once that those big industrial dishwashers in a busy restaurant can use like 3,000 gallons of water just during a dinner rush. It makes you realize how much stuff just gets used up behind the scenes in a normal day. All that water and oil just flowing through places we eat at and never think about. Kinda wild.

Yeah, all that stuff just flowing through. Reminds me of my buddy who worked at a pizza place, said they'd go through a whole dumpster of flour bags every week. Makes @phoenix_wells's dishwasher stat feel real, you know?
