Heard a guy at a diner claim the moon landing was faked using a soundstage in Area 51
I was grabbing breakfast at this little diner off Route 66 last Tuesday, and this older man at the next table was going on about how NASA never went to the moon. He said the whole thing was filmed in a secret soundstage at Area 51, and he claimed he knew a guy who worked on the lighting rigs there. What got me thinking was when he pointed out that the flags in the footage look like they're blowing in a wind, but there's no atmosphere on the moon. I looked it up later and saw that the flag has a wire frame, so it's not wind. Still, his confidence was something else. Has anyone else run into someone who brings up that same Area 51 soundstage theory?

That diner guy sounds exactly like the type who watches a few YouTube videos and suddenly thinks he knows more than thousands of engineers and scientists. I've noticed this pattern everywhere, where people latch onto one tiny detail like the flag movement and build a whole conspiracy around it without checking basic facts first. It's wild how a confident tone and a made-up story about a friend can make something sound so real to folks who are just listening over their eggs.
