Overheard a dermatologist at a local event talk about 'cosmetic ingredient overload'
She said clients are coming in with damaged barriers from using 5+ active serums at once, which is something we see a lot with at-home routines. How do you guys simplify product advice without stepping on a client's toes?

Sometimes more is actually better if you know what you're doing. A lot of people have complex skin issues that need a targeted approach. Dismissing multi-step routines as overload ignores those who see real results from them.

Yeah, I get what you're both saying... My sister has really bad eczema and her doctor had her on this whole list of creams and washes. It looked like a lot to me, but each thing had a job, like one for the itch and one to fix her skin barrier. She stuck with it for months and her skin is way better now. So I guess it depends on the person and their skin problems. Sometimes that many steps is what it takes.

Man, that's such a tough spot to be in, right? You see someone with a routine that's clearly hurting them, but they're so excited about all these products. I try to frame it as building a strong base first, like telling them to pick just one serum they love and really nail down a gentle cleanser and solid moisturizer for a few weeks. It's less about taking things away and more about making sure what they use actually works.
