Unpopular opinion: I thought 'cold DM outreach' was a total waste of time for getting clients.

I forced myself to send 10 personalized messages a day for a month after reading a case study, and it actually landed me a $2,500 project. What's a growth tactic you were wrong about?

That "total waste of time" line got me. I felt the same way about content marketing for years, just writing into a void. Then one random blog post from 2018 got shared last month and brought in a solid lead. Felt like finding money in an old coat.

Honestly that feels like finding a single dollar and using it to justify buying lottery tickets for a decade. For every one old post that pops off, a thousand others just rot on the server. The time spent creating all that dead content could have gone into actual, direct outreach that gets real answers now, not hoping for a miracle years later. Banking on a random share from 2018 is a terrible business plan. It just keeps people churning out stuff nobody reads while calling it a strategy.
