I was at a gallery opening in Austin and saw my own work printed huge for the first time

That's a classic monitor-to-wall shock! Soft proofing with your printer's specific ICC profile helps a ton before sending the final file. It saved me from some nasty surprises last year.

My shop's waste oil heater is a game-changer for cutting costs and waste

That waste oil heater setup is really clever. I'm curious about the actual numbers though, like how much used oil does your shop produce in a month to make running the heater worth it? Did you have to buy a special burner or could you modify an old furnace? I've seen some DIY plans that look pretty involved.

Back in 2015, I thought the whole 'soil decompaction with an air spade' thing was a gimmick

Man, that's a great example. It reminds me how often we write off simple fixes because they seem too easy. We expect big problems to need big, complicated solutions. But a lot of times, the real issue is just something basic that got overlooked. Seeing a tree bounce back like that proves the point. It's a good lesson in not judging an idea until you see the results for yourself.

My new $300 dust extractor just saved my lungs on a kitchen demo

Ever think that much dust is a sign of bigger problems you're just sucking up and ignoring?

Am I wrong for thinking a quiet hot spring in Idaho beats any fancy spa for stress relief?

Nothing beats a natural hot spring for clearing your head. Pack some water and snacks to make a full day of it.
