TIL that a 3-day permit for the Enchantments in Washington is worth the lottery stress after I saw a mountain goat lick a rock for salt right next to my tent.

Wait, only 20 people? That's way more brutal than I thought. How does the online lottery even work, is it just pure luck or do they have some kind of system? I'd be so mad to plan a trip around it and then not get picked.

Warning: I chose a rebuilt compressor over a new unit for a 2018 Frigidaire fridge

That rebuilder in Cleveland must have a solid process.

Showerthought: I saw a 90% drop in 'my computer is slow' tickets after we switched all our business clients to SSDs from HDDs over the last two years.

Yeah, the part about the drop in support tickets is so real. I mean, we did the same thing at my last job, just swapping out old drives for cheap SSDs on machines that were otherwise fine. The difference in how long it took to do anything was night and day. People just stopped complaining about boot times or programs hanging. It felt like we were actually fixing the problem instead of just putting out the same fires over and over. The upfront cost is nothing compared to getting your time back.

PSA: We stopped using a come-along on those tight flange fits and it cut our time in half

Heating just the bolt holes" is the key part. We found if you heat the whole flange it can warp and make it worse. That 400 degree sweet spot is everything.

Warning: I used to gatekeep so hard about reading order

Oh man, I was the same way for years. I finally gave up when I realized I was spending more time tracking down back issues than actually reading anything fun. My advice is to just pick a starting point that looks cool and google any major references you don't get. Most modern writers know new readers are jumping on, so they fill you in on what you need to know. It's way more fun to just enjoy the ride.
